Trait d’union entre le ciel et la terre, une flèche, stable par excellence et pourtant tellement dynamique selon l’axe vertical. Cette sculpture est une création suite à l’incendie qui a ravagé la cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris en 2019, et qui a vu la chute brutale de sa flèche construite par Viollet-le-Duc en 1859. Le symbole d’élévation et de spiritualité qu’elle représentait, la fragilité de tout totem face à l’Histoire, m’ont fait réfléchir à une sculpture duelle où les pleins et les vides seraient les deux composantes d’une colonne.
A union between heaven and earth, a spire, both fundamentally stable and yet vertically dynamic. This sculpture was created following the fire that devastated the Notre Dame cathedral of Paris in 2019 and saw the brutal fall of the spire built by Viollet-le-Duc in 1859. The symbol of height and spirituality that the spire represented, the fragility of any totem in the path of history made me reflect on a dual piece where the solids and the voids would be the two components of a column.
Bindestrich zwischen Himmel und Erde, der Pfeil, Stabil und dennoch so vertikal dynamisch. Diese Skulptur wurde nach dem Brand von 2019, der Notre-Dame de Paris zerstörte und den brutalen Sturz des, 1859 von Viollet-le-Duc gebauten Pfeils, erschaffen. Die Symbolik für Erhabenheit und Spiritualität, die sie spiegelte, die Zerbrechlichkeit des Totems gegenüber der Geschichte, brachten mich zum Nachdenken. Ich wollte eine dualistische Skulptur erschaffen, in der das volle und das leere beide Komponenten einer Säule sein konnten.
